The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, paid a courtesy call on President John Dramani Mahama at his private residence in Accra on Monday evening.
His Majesty was accompanied by a delegation of traditional leaders. The visit was understood to be a gesture of goodwill and a symbolic farewell following Otumfuo’s attendance as Guest of Honour at his son’s graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 21st.
Sources described the meeting between the two leaders as warm and respectful, highlighting the strong personal and cultural ties that exist between the Ashanti traditional leadership and Ghana’s political administration. While no official statements were released following the engagement, those present indicated that the discussions were characterised by mutual respect and shared reflection.
