  • Post category:Inspiring

The healthcare industry is witnessing a quiet revolution, spearheaded by a visionary young nurse entrepreneur, Michelle Nana Adwoa Andam. Through her MALT Foundation, Ms. Andam is not only redefining the scope of her own career but also profoundly impacting the future of nursing across the nation, fostering a new generation of confident and empowered professionals.

For nearly four years, the MALT Foundation has been a beacon of hope, dedicated to “touching lives, restoring hopes, and changing the narrative” of the nursing profession. Its core mission centres on empowering and motivating nursing students across the nation, particularly those pursuing courses sometimes perceived as lesser, such as nursing assistant and community nursing. The foundation directly addresses the occasional feelings of marginalisation experienced by these students, fostering a sense of unity and shared professional worth within the broader nursing community.

This commitment was richly demonstrated at the foundation’s recent flagship programme, “Exceptional Nurse,” held on 10th July 2025 at the Adjoba Events Centre, off the Ofaakor Kasoa road. The event drew a significant gathering of aspiring healthcare professionals from Nyaniba Health College, alongside a cohort of respected senior health practitioners. The programme featured a powerful line-up of speakers, including Mr. Isidore Kpotufe, Chief Executive Officer of Rivia Company, and Dr. Isaac Biney, both of whom served as main speakers for the occasion.

The speakers passionately urged the students to embrace perseverance in their dreams and to cultivate an unparalleled work ethic. Both Dr. Biney and Mr. Kpotufe delivered a unified message, admonishing the future nurses to strive for excellence and innovation in their respective endeavours, thereby demonstrating their inherent value and substance within the healthcare sector. Senior practitioners present also took turns sharing insights, reinforcing the importance of dedication and continuous learning in pursuing one’s aspirations.

Through such impactful initiatives, Michelle Nana Adwoa Andam’s MALT Foundation continues to champion a more inclusive and inspiring vision for nursing in Ghana, cultivating a generation of confident and impactful healthcare professionals poised to make a significant difference.
