The police in the Ashanti region have initiated an investigation into a purported rape and murder of an 18-year-old female in Anwiankwanta.
As per the accounts of the locals, the 18-year-old apprentice was picked up by unidentified individuals in a vehicle who offered to drop her off at her residence.
Upon her failure to return, the concerned members of the community commenced a search for her. Unfortunately, her lifeless body was discovered in an unfinished building located just a few meters away from her abode. Eyewitnesses reported that she was partially unclothed, raising suspicions of sexual assault before her demise.
The law enforcement authorities were notified, and a comprehensive inquiry has been launched to unravel the circumstances surrounding her premature and enigmatic death.
Frank Awuah, the assembly member for the Awiankwanta electoral area, stated in an interview with the media that the police are still investigating and urged anyone with information to come forward. The woman’s demise has caused a stir in the Anwiankwanta community, and the residents are demanding justice.
