Dr. Nyaho-Nyaho Tamakloe believes Chris Hughton will resign as Black Stars coach if the Ghana Football Association (GFA) play “monkey tricks” with him.
Hughton, formerly of Brighton and Newcastle United, has been tasked with leading the senior national team after Otto Addo resigned following Ghana’s early exit from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
George Boateng and Didi Dramani will serve as his assistants. Previous coaches have criticized the GFA for not allowing them to work freely, with CK Akonnor citing interference from certain members.
However, Dr. Tamakloe, who also serves as a Board Member of Hearts of Oak, has stated that Hughton will resign if his job is interfered with.
“Before Chris Hughton came in, names were presented: Otto Addo, Chris Hughton, George Boateng and Didi Dramani,” he told Asempa FM.
“I was interviewed, and I said the Black Stars’ vacant position should be given to Chris Hughton because Otto Addo was part of the then-technical team and never had time for the team but if we want to play that monkey tricks with Chris Hughton as the head coach of the Black Stars, he will resign.”
