Dormaahene, Oseadeayo Agyeman Badu II, has issued a stern warning to Otumfuo Osei Tutu, Asantehene, regarding his alleged misrepresentation of Dormaa’s history. In a bid to maintain clarity and accuracy, Dormaahene urges Asantehene to confine his focus within his own territory and refrain from distorting Dormaa’s historical narrative with falsehoods.
A video, obtained by Ashantibiz, captures Dormaahene recounting the early days of Dormaa’s history, tracing their migration from their origins to their present location. According to him, Dormaa predates the Ashantis, and if any claim to seniority is to be made, it rightfully belongs to the Dormaa people.
Dormaahene questions Asantehene’s silence in the face of what he perceives as a direct attack on his own character and that of the Bono people whenever a sub-chief from Ashanti attempts to challenge his assertions. He emphasizes that insults are not exclusive to any particular group; he and his subjects are equally capable of retaliating and hurling insults.
Dormaahene advises Otumfuo not to propagate falsehoods while attempting to narrate Dormaa’s history, but rather to remain within the confines of his own territory. He warns that any time Asantehene endeavors to spread lies and present their history in a derogatory manner, he will step forward to rectify the inaccuracies.
He urges Asantehene to respect boundaries and refrain from distorting Dormaa’s history, emphasizing that any misrepresentation will be met with a swift correction.
