A grand durbar of the chiefs and people of Juaben has been held to mark 50 years of enstoolment of Daasebre OtuoSereboe as Omanhene of Juaben Traditional Area of Ashanti.
The durbar attracted government officials, traditional authorities across the country, party representatives of the NPP and NDC, members of the Council of State, Parliamentarians, Chief Justice Kwasi Anim Yeboah, and Acting IGP, Dr George Akufo Dampare.
Also present were the clergy, and classmates of Daasebre Otuo Sereboe. Daasebre Otuo Sereboe, an electrical engineer by profession was enstooled 50 years ago. Ashantibiz correspondent reports that all the solidarity messages eulogized Daasebre for his wonderful achievements for Juaben in particular and Ashanti in general.
The messages came from the National House of Chiefs, Council of State of which he is the Chairman, as well as alumni of various institutions he attended. Daasebre’s 50 years’ inspiring leadership has brought a lot of development to Juaben, among them are a hospital, a district court, asphalted roads, and electricity.
He has been able to unite the Juaben community to accelerate development.
A member of the Council of State, Sam Okudzeto described Daasebre Otuo Sereboe, as a visionary and exceptional leader who was offered the opportunity to occupy the chairmanship position of the council of state for two consecutive terms.
The Metropolitan Archbishop of Kumasi, Dr Peter Akwasi Sarpong in a sermon, said Daasebre Otuo Sereboe is a peacemaker and inspirer who has ruled tirelessly to raise the chieftaincy institution in Juaben, Ashanti and Ghana as a whole.
‘’He is for his people a real peace maker. He represented a father, mother, guardian, not only with words, but by example’’, according to the Archbishop.
Daasebre Otuo Sereboe expressed gratitude to his people, past and present governments for offering him the opportunity to serve. He advised the youth against drug abuse and to be disciplined for the total development of the Juaben community.
