We’ll demolish Kumasi Airport to wipe out Mahama’s legacy in Ashanti – NPP guru

New Patriotic Party (NPP) top gun in the Ashanti Region, Akwasi Kyei Danso has shot down former President John Mahama’s achievement of transforming Kumasi Airport to an international standard.

The immediate past Regional Communications Director of the NPP contends the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by former President John Mahama never made any meaningful infrastructure in Kumasi let alone the so-called International Airport.

‘As I speak to you, the current airport is going to be demolished. We’ll pull down every structure that NDC started. He’ll have nothing show.’ the acerbic NPP leading member revealed during a panel discussion monitored by ashantibiz.com on Kumasi-based Akoma.

It would be that in November 2016, Parliament passed the buyer credit and commercial contract agreements between the government and some companies for the development of Kumasi and Tamale international airports.

The first buyer credit agreement was between the government and Banco Santander S. A. and its affiliates for €65,037,500 fa or the development of one section of the Kumasi International Airport.

There was also a tied commercial loan agreement between the government and Banco Santander S. A. and its affiliates for €7,762,500 for the development of another section of the same airport.

The commercial contract agreement between the government and Contracta Construction UK Limited was for an amount of €66,350,000 for the design and execution of works for the development of the Kumasi International Airport.
