KNUST: Stop wearing miniskirts to class, Lecturers encouraged to sack students

Management of the Law Faculty at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has sent caution to law students who have failed to observe the dress code of the faculty.

In a notice signed by the Dean of the faculty, Dr. Ernest Owusu-Dapaa, sighted by our news team, the faculty is reminding students of its dress code and cautioning them to desist from dressing that will subject the image of the law profession to disrepute.

By the release of the notice, the faculty lecturers have been encouraged to sack students who go against the order.

“It has come to the notice of management that some students do not observe the Dress Code of the Faculty. All students are required to dress in accordance with Faculty’s Dress Code.

Please note white means white.

Students are therefore cautioned to dress properly and desist from wearing miniskirts (above knee level), sleeveless tops, lace tops, and any other dress that will subject the image of the law profession to disrepute.

All lecturers are encouraged to sack students, who do not comply with the above, from class” – the statement said.

Find below the statement and the dress code for Law students.

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology is not the only University to address this concern.

It can be recalled that the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Professor Abednego F.O. Amartey, also expressed a similar concern leading to the ban of the wearing of miniskirts and other seductive dresses on campus.

Before the Vice-Chancellor’s address, the University’s authorities had already warned students who wear skimpy and short dresses on campus that they violate the University rules, which seems not to be adhered to by the students, especially the females.
