President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Lariba Zuweira Abudu, the Member of Parliament for Walewale as Minister-designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection.
Until her appointment, Madam Abudu was the Deputy Minister of the Ministry. She Sarah Adwoa Safo, whose appointment was revoked by the President recently.
A statement issued by the Presidency on Tuesday said Madam Abudu’s appointment was subject to the approval of Parliament.
The statement said the President had also nominated Francisca Obeng Mensah, the Member of Parliament for Kwabre East as the Deputy Minister-designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection, subject to the approval of Parliament.
It said the President was hopeful that Parliament would expedite the approval of the nominees.
